However, if you or someone you know has an animal with Parvo, we now offer supportive treatment that can be administered at home if you are financially unable to have your animal hospitalized. Cost range is dependent on the size of your animal. Please call us for more information.
This is a good time to remind new pet owners the importance of vaccinating their puppy or kitten.
Vaccinations are typically given at 8, 12 and 16 weeks of age. These vaccinations are referred to as a “series”.
These vaccinations are time sensitive and need to be given 3-4 weeks apart through 16 weeks of age.
If you have an animal over 16 weeks of age, without vaccination history or vaccination boosters in the 3-4 week time frame, your animal will need two vaccinations (their first one and a booster in 3-4 weeks).
Until your puppy or kitten has had the “series” of vaccinations, they are not protected. Keep puppies out of parks, or any other areas that you do not know the health of the other animals around.
